The Ed Coates Memorial Foundation has donated $25,000 in tools and equipment to Pitt Meadows Secondary School’s automotive program.

At Pitt Meadows Secondary School, the automotive program was in desperate need of new tools and equipment. On top of that, their broken-down hoist prevented students from working in one of their bays.

“On behalf of School District 42 Maple Ridge – Pitt Meadows I would like to thank the Ed Coates Memorial Foundation (ECMF) for their generous support of our secondary shop programs,” said Steve Wiebe – Principal of Youth Train In Trades and Work In Trades Programs. “They have gone above and beyond with their donations of high-quality tools and equipment to all of our secondary schools.  I would like to mention specifically the donation the Ed Coates Memorial Foundation has made last month to Pitt Meadows Secondary School’s automotive and metal fabrication programs – their donation of a hoist, and an assortment of tools have enhanced these programs immeasurably.”

ECMF’s contribution towards the school’s automotive program includes tools, welding machines, spray guns and a brand-new hoist, and amounts to over $25,000, which will better help the students of Pit Meadows achieve their goals within the automotive repair industry.
